Start your adventure in Shannon Reserve – get your face painted and explore our indoor Kids Makers Market (10am – 2pm). This will be followed by an indoor/ outdoor community picnic with lawn games at Shannon Reserve until 4pm.

At Wilson Café Community Space from 10am – 3pm, join cardboard heroes BOXWARS to design and build a kids-only city! In the same building, in the foyer you can road test the finalist prototypes from the playscape design competition. Make sure you vote your favourite for the people’s choice award that will be announced at 3pm.

Visit the Surry Hills Library for storytime and craft with your friendly library team from insert times.

Dog lovers can head to The Carrington Hotel from 2:00pm for an afternoon of pawsome events including a dog and owner fashion extravaganza, dog themed photo selfie station, music, food and special offers! It is also the last day to see the amazing dog portrait exhibition from Annabel Osborne that has been showing at The Carrington all month – come and find your favourite famous local pooch!

We are prepared for all seasons so what better way to stay dry, and have fun in Surry this weekend?

Join us in April as we take over the village to celebrate the joy of play!

Bringing together local business, residents and community groups, our month-long festival is reigniting the signature spirit that makes Surry Hills a unique creative playground.

From pop up picnics to live music, children’s programs, bike tours, art installations, a Shannon Reserve takeover and a dedicated program celebrating our love of dogs— we have something for anyone and everyone with a desire to play.

Whether you’re a local resident or just visiting the area, come and experience the magic of play in Surry Hills.
